Can a customer downgrade tier later?
Both upgrades and downgrades are supported on the monthly billing cycle; user cap and transaction credit adjust to the new tier.
Yes - both upgrades and downgrades are supported on the monthly billing cycle. Self-service via Account Settings → Billing and Subscription → Your Plan → Manage Plan.
What changes when you downgrade:
- User cap - if the lower tier has fewer included users than currently active, you'll need to deactivate users before the downgrade takes effect. The platform will refuse to apply the downgrade until the cap is satisfied.
- Transaction credit - monthly transaction credit drops to the new tier's level ($440 Enterprise → $220 Professional → none on Starter).
- Entity count - downgrading from Enterprise (3 entities included) to Professional (1 entity included) requires the additional entities to be either deactivated or moved to a paid-per-entity add-on at $49/month each.
- White-labelling - not available on Starter, so Pro/Enterprise → Starter downgrade reverts to the neutral branded experience.
Upgrades are immediate with prorated billing for the partial month. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing month so the customer isn't penalised mid-cycle. No downgrade fee.
