Can a real estate agency use easyAML for property management even though it isn't an AML obligation?
Property management coverage is coming soon - ID verification can be used for it today.
This feature is coming soon. Although property management itself sits outside the AML/CTF regime (see "Are property management, leasing and rental transactions captured?" in this section), agencies are welcome to use easyAML's ID verification for property management work - and many do, for three reasons:
- One system, both sides of the agency. Sales staff and property management staff use the same workflow, the same audit trail and the same vendor records. No need to maintain a separate ID-check tool for the property management book.
- Owner verification. Some agencies want owner ID on file as a fraud control (especially for off-shore or first-time landlords) even though it isn't legally required.
- Marketing and onboarding consistency. A consistent customer experience across sales and rentals - same SMS branding, same VOI flow - looks more professional and reduces friction.
Whether it's economically worthwhile depends on volume. For a high-volume property management book it's a clear win on the per-check pricing. For very low-volume operations it can help justify the subscription. The platform charges KYC fees per check (not per property managed), so there's no fixed cost for adding the property management side.
