Do clients need to download an app to complete KYC/VOI?

No download required; the VOI link opens in any modern mobile browser and the customer completes document capture and selfie in-browser.

No download required for the customer. The VOI link opens a web page where the client completes the verification on their device - it works in any modern mobile browser (Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox) without any installation step.

How the customer flow looks:

  • SMS or email arrives with a link.
  • Customer taps the link - mobile browser opens the VOI page.
  • Camera and microphone permissions are requested in-browser (standard browser prompt).
  • Capture document, capture selfie, answer questionnaire - all in the browser.
  • Result is finalised - the customer sees a confirmation screen.

If the customer accesses the link from a desktop computer, easyAML provides a QR code they can scan with their phone to continue the VOI on the mobile device (which has the camera). Selecting "In Person VOI" generates a QR code that's scannable on any device - iPhone, iPad, Android - so staff doing in-office captures don't need any special hardware setup.

The native easyAML app on Google Play and Apple App Store) is for staff use, not customer use. Customers stay in the no-install web flow regardless of staff app status.
