I can't enable the camera or location settings
How to allow camera, microphone and location access on iPhone, iPad and Android before verifying your identity.
Many devices block access to the camera, microphone and/or location by default. The verification process needs access to one or more of these to verify your identity, and only accesses them during the verification itself. The steps vary by device and browser.
iPhone / iPad
Settings need updating in two places on Apple devices. Safari is preferred, though Chrome also works.
First, update your Privacy settings:
- Open the Settings app and select Privacy & Security
- Select Location Services (even if it already says On)
- Scroll down and select Safari Websites or Chrome, depending on your browser
- Change access to While Using the App
Next, for Safari:
- Back in Settings, scroll down and select Safari
- Select Camera and change to Allow or Ask for all websites
- Repeat for Microphone and Location
Or for Chrome on iPhone:
- Back in Settings, scroll down and select Chrome
- Select Location and set to While Using the App
Then return to your browser and refresh the page to allow access again.
Android (e.g. Pixel or Samsung)
Use Chrome as your browser, make sure you are not in Incognito mode, and check Chrome's site settings allow the camera, microphone, popups and location sharing (Chrome menu > Settings > Site settings). Then refresh the verification page and allow access when prompted.
