# How do I add a KYB for a company or trust?

## Add the legal entity under Entities, and easyAML identifies the individuals who ultimately own or control it.

Any time a legal entity is involved in a matter - a company buying property, a trust as the purchasing vehicle, a corporate trustee, a partnership - it needs to be added as an entity before it can be tagged to a transaction:

- Open **Entities** in the left sidebar (**[open directly](https://app.easyaml.com/legal-entities/new)**) and add the legal entity - Australian companies and businesses are looked up by ABN or ACN.
- For trusts (discretionary/family, unit or SMSF), easyAML's AI reader extracts the details from the uploaded trust deed.
- easyAML then identifies the individuals who ultimately own or control the entity (UBOs) - each of these gets a KYC.
- Link the entity to the transaction and track the outstanding checks from the transaction record.
