What operational tasks does my business need to do beyond setting up easyAML?

Beyond the platform: you may need to consider redesigning onboarding workflows, updating employment contracts, briefing your support team.

The easyAML platform covers your compliance obligations - the AML/CTF Program, Risk Assessment, CDD/EDD workflows, training, and record-keeping. What it doesn't cover is the operational work that surrounds compliance: redesigning your internal workflows, updating employment contracts, briefing your team, remediating existing clients, or registering with AUSTRAC.

The businesses that struggle to meet the 1 July 2026 deadline are rarely the ones who left choosing a platform too late. They're the ones who underestimated the internal operational lift, and started it too late to get it done properly.

We've published a detailed checklist - AML/CTF Compliance: Operational Readiness - covering every operational task we'd recommend you consider. It's structured in two parts:

Part 1 applies to every firm and covers eleven areas:

  • Decisions that must be made before anything else can proceed
  • Tasks that require external parties (lawyers, accountants, insurers, PMS vendors)
  • Technology, data and IT
  • Finance, billing and pricing
  • The existing client challenge
  • Client experience and commercial impact
  • Internal documentation and templates
  • Records, privacy and information management
  • Business continuity and resilience
  • Staff training and team readiness
  • Reporting readiness

Part 2 adds eight further areas for medium (6-50 people) and large (50+) firms - project and change management, technology and IT at scale, HR and workforce, client experience for VIP clients, insurance and risk, communications and marketing, business continuity, and tender/RFP readiness.

The full checklist is the best starting point. It tells you not just what to do, but who owns each task (Principal, Compliance Officer, HR, IT, Marketing, External Lawyer, Insurance Broker, etc.) and why each one matters. Print it, work through it as a team, and use it to drive a dated delivery plan.
