Why can't I change the business name on my account?
Business names can be updated via Account Settings; if the field appears locked the cause is usually user permissions or a pending ASIC/ABN verification step.
Business names can be updated - via Account Settings → Business Profile. If the field appears locked, two common causes:
- User permissions - only the Compliance Officer or Owner role typically has write access to Business Profile. Lower-permissioned users see the fields as read-only.
- Pending verification - if the business name has been recently changed, the platform may be holding it for an ASIC / ABN verification step before fully committing the change. Resolves automatically within a short window.
If the field is genuinely not editable for the right user, contact support - this would be a bug rather than expected behaviour. Provide the account reference and a screenshot of the field as you see it; support will investigate.
For changes that involve the legal entity itself (not just a trading-name update) - e.g. a partnership restructuring to a Pty Ltd - additional verification steps may apply because the underlying entity is changing. The customer success team can advise on the right path.
