Why does the role 'Conveyancer' or ‘Lawyer’ not appear in the role list?

AUSTRAC defines roles by AML function (CDD, Frontline, Compliance Officer) rather than by profession; a conveyancer typically maps to the CDD User role with full transaction sign-off authority.

There's no dedicated "Conveyancer" role today because the AUSTRAC framework defines roles by AML function (CDD, Frontline, CO, etc.) rather than by profession. A conveyancer typically maps to the CDD User role since they sign off on transactions and exercise professional judgement on customer risk.

Where a conveyancer also performs ID capture for their own clients without separately escalating to a CO, the CDD User role gives them everything they need: ability to initiate KYC, view completed verification documents, sign off transactions, escalate risk decisions, and access ongoing monitoring outputs.

If the firm wants the user's job title to display as 'Conveyancer' or ‘Lawyer’ alongside their AML role, that can be set in Account Settings → Users → edit pencil. The job title is descriptive only and doesn't affect permissions or training requirements.

A profession-specific role label could be added if it's a common ask, but the underlying permission model isn't going to change - AUSTRAC's framework is function-based.
