[General](https://knowledge.easyaml.com/faqs?hsLang=en-au#general) # Why does the role 'Conveyancer' or ‘Lawyer’ not appear in the role list? ## AUSTRAC defines roles by AML function (CDD, Frontline, Compliance Officer) rather than by profession. There's no dedicated "Conveyancer" role today because the AUSTRAC framework defines roles by **AML function** (CDD, Frontline, CO, etc.) rather than by **profession**. A conveyancer typically maps to the **CDD User** role since they sign off on transactions and exercise professional judgement on customer risk. Where a conveyancer also performs ID capture for their own clients without separately escalating to a CO, the CDD User role gives them everything they need: ability to initiate KYC, view completed verification documents, sign off transactions, escalate risk decisions, and access ongoing monitoring outputs. If the firm wants the user's **job title** to display as 'Conveyancer' or ‘Lawyer’ alongside their AML role, that can be set in Account Settings → Users ([open directly](https://app.easyaml.com/settings/users)) → edit pencil. The job title is descriptive only and doesn't affect permissions or training requirements.
