How do I request Source of Funds or Source of Wealth?

Only needed for High Risk clients or where genuine suspicion - and only available once initial KYC steps are complete.

You only need to request Source of Funds(SoF) or Source of Wealth(SoW) when the client is High Risk or you have a genuine suspicion - it is not needed or recommended in other situations.

SoF/SoW requests become available at initial KYC request or after the client has completed the first steps of their KYC - the Request Information option is blocked before that point.

  1. Wait until the client's initial KYC steps show complete.
  2. Open the individual's record and select Request documents in the Source of Wealth or Source of Funds tabs.
  3. Follow the steps to request confirmation on the type of Source of Funds and/or Wealth and send.

Include it upfront instead?

Yes - attach a SoF/SoW request when creating the KYC - but again, only for High Risk clients or genuine suspicion; either can be requested later if the need arises.

My client emailed me their documents - can I upload them?

Yes, you can upload them into the attachments, but not currently into the SoF/SoW sections - these sections only support requesting evidence from the client.
