How do I request Source of Funds or Source of Wealth?
Only needed for High Risk clients or where genuine suspicion - and only available once initial KYC steps are complete.
You only need to request Source of Funds(SoF) or Source of Wealth(SoW) when the client is High Risk or you have a genuine suspicion - it is not needed or recommended in other situations.
SoF/SoW requests become available at initial KYC request or after the client has completed the first steps of their KYC - the Request Information option is blocked before that point.
- Wait until the client's initial KYC steps show complete.
- Open the individual's record and select Request documents in the Source of Wealth or Source of Funds tabs.
- Follow the steps to request confirmation on the type of Source of Funds and/or Wealth and send.
Include it upfront instead?
Yes - attach a SoF/SoW request when creating the KYC - but again, only for High Risk clients or genuine suspicion; either can be requested later if the need arises.
My client emailed me their documents - can I upload them?
Yes, you can upload them into the attachments, but not currently into the SoF/SoW sections - these sections only support requesting evidence from the client.
