What ID verification methods does easyAML support?

Three methods: remote VOI via SMS or email link, in-person VOI on a phone or tablet, and manual capture by a staff member; all produce the same audit record.

Three options, all producing the same audit-grade record:

1. Remote VOI (default for most matters). The platform sends the customer an SMS and/or email link. The customer opens the link on their own phone, captures their ID document(s) with the camera, completes a liveness selfie, and signs. DVS document validity, PEP / sanctions / adverse-media screening and biometric comparison all run automatically. Customer-side time: 1–2 minutes. Recommended where the customer is offsite, time-poor, or geographically distant.

2. In-person VOI. Staff send the KYC link to a tablet or device (or inside easyAML app) in the office, and the customer completes the capture while present. Same flow as remote but with the document captured from the customer in your presence and an in-person witness step. Used by firms with face-to-face customer relationships (some real estate offices, conveyancers seeing clients at signing, etc.).

3. Purchase / Reliance from another easyAML subscriber. Where the same individual has been KYC'd inside another easyAML subscriber's account for the same transaction, the verified data is shared rather than re-collected. A reliance agreement must be in place between the firms (see Section 5 - Reliance and KYC/KYB Sharing). The receiving firm pays a n agreed fee; the originating firm receives the bulk of that fee. Notification is sent to the originating firm each time a shared CDD is accessed.

A manual VOI path is also supported for customers who genuinely can't complete the digital flow (elderly, accessibility, no smartphone) - see "Is a manual VOI permitted for customers unable to use the digital flow?" above.

All three options produce the same downstream audit record - the same KYC fields, the same screening, the same 7-year retention.
