Can easyAML validate digital driver's licences?

Yes where the issuing state has a third-party-verification scheme; NSW is supported at launch and VIC and QLD are expected during 2026 as state schemes mature.

Yes, where the issuing state has a working digital licence scheme that supports third-party verification. The state-by-state position:

  • State: NSW; Digital licence status in easyAML: Live - supported at launch.
  • State: VIC; Digital licence status in easyAML: Expected during 2026 (Victorian DigitalDriverLicence is rolling out; integration follows).
  • State: QLD; Digital licence status in easyAML: Expected during 2026 (QLD Digital Licence app launched 2023; integration follows).
  • State: WA; Digital licence status in easyAML: Tracking with ServiceWA digital ID rollout.
  • State: SA, TAS, NT, ACT; Digital licence status in easyAML: Following the same pattern as the issuing state's digital scheme matures.

Where a digital licence isn't yet integrated, the customer presents the physical licence in the standard VOI flow - there's no compliance penalty for capturing the physical version even if the customer also holds the digital. AUSTRAC's framework doesn't mandate digital licence acceptance, so this is purely a customer-convenience question.
