Can staff start training before the Risk Assessment is completed?

Yes - Training can happen in parallel; only certain actions is gated and requires training.

Yes. Training, user invitation and integration setup can all happen in parallel - there's no gate that requires training to be done first. This is deliberate so the firm can spread the work across the team and the lead-up period.

What training does gate: transactional access - a CO can't complete a Risk Assessment and a user can't initiate or sign off VOIs until their training is complete. So a typical pre-launch sequence looks like:

  1. CO completes their training in the first week (because the CO needs to approve the Risk Assessment and AML Program).
  2. CO invites the rest of the team; users complete training in parallel.
  3. CO drafts the Risk Assessment (~30 minutes if business info is to hand).
  4. CO reviews and approves the auto-generated AML Program.
  5. By go-live (1 July 2026 for original launch cohort), all users with operational roles have training complete and the platform is fully operational.

Operating without training is a problem under AUSTRAC - a transaction performed by an untrained user could be challenged in audit. The platform enforces this by locking transactional access; the rest of the setup work is unblocked.
