Creating and submitting a SMR, UAR or TTR report
How to create and submit an SMR, UAR or TTR in easyAML.
How to create and submit a Suspicious Matter Report (SMR), Unusual Activity Report (UAR) or Threshold Transaction Report (TTR) in easyAML. All roles can create UARs, but only the Compliance Officer and 2IC Compliance Officers can create and submit SMRs or TTRs.

Step-by-step guide

- Click the Create Report link in Reporting sidebar.
Report Type Selection
- Click on the report type you need to submit. Unusual Activity Report(UAR), Suspicious Matter Report(SMR) or Threshold Transaction Report(TTR). SMR and TTR's need to be submitted to AUSTRAC and are visible to COs, 2IC COs and Senior Managers.
Basic Information Setup
- The walkthrough shows submitting a SMR - each report is similar and will auto populate many sections. You must accurately complete the information that is missing.

- Click Next to move through the sections.
Detailed Report Entry
- Select the transaction that the matter relates to and then review linked transaction and proceed to Report details
- Enter a summary in the Suspicious activity summary field
- Provide the Reason for suspicion in the box and Relationship to your organisation dropdown - generally it will be Customer.
- Choose 1 or more Risk Indicators observed and when you are satisfied the information is correct, select the Next button.
- Add any Supporting Documentation you have relating to the issue, this could include emails, notes from CRMs, Bank Statements or any other information relating to SMR. You can also add Additional notes. Click Next to finalise SMR creation.
Final Review and Save
- Complete one final review and click Create SMR in easyAML. If you're not satisfied, you can Save as Draft and amend later.
Submitting report to AUSTRAC
- The Suspciousl Matter Report AUSTRAC submission page - gives a guide digital twin that matches page to page submitting a report to AUSTRAC. To start click Open AUSTRAC Online and log in.
- Follow the marked steps on left hand side (in SMR there is 5 steps). Copy the information in each section into the matching AUSTRAC section in the AUSTRAC Portal. One you have a section click on the next one of the Next button. When you get to the final step, record the AUSTRAC receipt for the submitted report and optionally attached the receipt PDF.
- Follow the marked steps on left hand side (in SMR there is 5 steps). Copy the information Navigate to the Record Receipt tab and enter the AUSTRAC receipt number
- Then click "Mark as submitted in easyAML' button to log that you have successfully submitted the report and completed your obligations.
