Should a Real Estate-trained agent also undertake the Conveyancer/Legal/Accounting training modules or vice-versa?
Not mandatory but optional; sector modules cover similar core concepts with different examples.
It’s not mandatory but you can. The sector modules cover similar the same core concepts (CDD, source-of-funds, PEP/sanctions, reporting) with different sector-specific examples and language; they're not designed to be cumulative.
When a user might want to do a second sector's module:
- Cross-sector firms (e.g. a real estate office that also provides conveyancing services) - the dual-sector view helps the user think about the differences in customer relationship and risk profile.
- Career development - a staff member moving from real estate to conveyancing benefits from seeing the conveyancer-specific framing.
- Curiosity / professional interest - some users like the cross-sector visibility.
For AUSTRAC compliance purposes, completing the sector module for the firm's actual designated services is what's required. Additional sector modules are extra value, not extra obligation.
