How is a Lead Entity + multiple company-entity structure (e.g. 5 child entities) configured?
Configured as a Reporting Group with the lead entity at the top and the trading entities underneath.
Configured as a Reporting Group with the Lead Entity at the top and the trading conveyancing entities as member entities underneath. Standard configuration:
- Single consolidated AML Program covering all entities in the group.
- Separate Risk Assessments per entity - each member entity completes its own RA reflecting its specific customer base, geographic exposure and service mix. The RAs feed into the single Program.
- Same CO across all entities - one Compliance Officer carries the regulatory accountability for the entire group, with the appropriate authority and resources.
- CO 2IC backups can cover all entities during the CO's absence - useful for genuine business continuity across the group.
Backend configuration by easyAML's platform team typically takes 1–2 days once the entity details are provided. The customer success team coordinates the setup; the customer provides the entity list (legal names, ABNs, sectors, designated services) and the platform team configures the parent-child structure, user access, and the consolidated Program scaffold.
What this structure delivers operationally:
- One subscription covering the group (subject to entity-count pricing).
- One credit pool for KYC/KYB transactions, used flexibly across the entities.
- Cross-entity visibility for the CO and other authorised users via the entity switcher.
- Independent operational records per entity (customers, transactions, training) for entity-level audit.
You must ensure that you have enrolled with AUSTRAC as a Reporting Group, you must register the Lead Entity first AUSTRAC.
