Does easyAML go physically to identify individuals (e.g. to an aged-care facility)?
No, easyAML does not provide in-person verification services; supported paths are remote digital VOI, other in-person VOI and manual document sighting by staff.
No. easyAML doesn't provide physical/in-person verification services. The supported paths for individuals who can't or won't complete remote VOI:
- Remote digital VOI - standard flow on the staff member's phone or device. Works for ~95% of cases.
- In-person VOI on a phone/office tablet - the individual comes into the office (or one of your team goes to them) and completes the VOI on a phone/tablet handed over by another staff member. Tablet-based capture is functionally identical to mobile capture; the QR-code workflow makes this easy.
- Manual VOI - in person, in-office or off-site, using the ARNECC Manual Identification Form. The completed form is uploaded as supporting documentation; the audit trail is preserved (see Section 4).
- External third-party VOI - a JP, lawyer, accountant or other recognised professional performs the manual VOI and the completed form is uploaded.
For genuinely difficult cases (aged-care residents, accessibility constraints, geographic isolation), the right path is usually a combination of manual VOI with appropriate third-party witness. easyAML can advise on what's acceptable in specific scenarios but doesn't dispatch staff for physical verification.
The reasoning: providing in-person verification as a service would require easyAML to maintain a national workforce of verification agents, which would change the cost structure of the platform materially. Most firms find the digital + in-person tablet + manual fallback combination covers their full population.
